Obudu Mountain Resort. My visit to the ranch was indeed one of the best moments of my life-Alice Michael
Obudu Mountain Resort (formerly known as the Obudu Cattle Ranch) is a ranch and resort on the Obudu-Plateau in Cross Rivers State, Nigeria. It was developed in 1951 by M. McCaughley, a Scot who first explored the mountain-ranges in 1949. He camped on the mountaintop of the Oshie-Ridge on the Sankwala-Mountains for a month before returning with Mr. Hugh Jones, a fellow rancher, in 1951. Together with Dr Crawfeild, they developed the Obudu Cattle Ranch.

The Obudu Mountain Resort
Obudu Mountain Resort is one of Africa’s finest and most interesting and spectacular tourist destinations. Obudu Mountain Resort is located in the highlands and deep tropical forests of Cross River State with a temperate climate at about 45 miles from the border with Cameroon.
If you are a tourist looking for a mix of adventure and idyllic tranquillity, then Obudu Cattle Ranch is the place to be. With rich natural vegetation and a picturesque view.
The ranch has numerous pleasant and beautiful mountain-area and country-side views, with a well preserved and calm Serene.
My visit to the ranch was indeed one of the best moments of my life. I’m a lover of nature and adventures. A visit to the ranch is something I’ve longed for.
We passed through the Intestinal Road; this is a road that brings one up the mountain to the ranch the road network is spiral. Our drive through the road was scary but fun.
We were warmly welcomed at the reception and after payment of entrance fee, we were assigned a guard that would take us around.
Firstly I took pictures at the entrance of the reception, then we headed to the Presidential Villa were we had a beautiful view of the ANGEL’s VIEW; the angel’s view is a breath taking view where two valleys met and formed a V point.
We also had a beautiful view of the beautiful plateaus and intestinal road and it was zigzag view from the top.
From there we headed the CANOPY WALKWAY; the canopy walkway is a 100m swinging bridge suspended above the forest. Before getting to the Walkway, we passed through a part of BECHEEVE MINI FOREST RESVERVE.
We couldn’t tour every part of the Ranch because it was not functioning properly due to the lockdown order on Social Distancing and limited crowds. We had to bid the Ranch a goodbye.
The Obudu Mountain Resorts is indeed a beautiful site to behold.
