Oguta Lake: The Mysterious Lake in Imo State. Oguta Lake is a lean 'finger lake' formed by the damming of the lower Njaba River with alluvium which consists of clay, sand and also silt. It is the largest natural lake in Imo State, Southeastern Nigeria; within the equatorial rainforest region of Niger Delta. The lake is 8.05km long and 2.41km wide. The water in the lake actually flows from Njaba lake. Two out of the lakes mentioned flow together but do not mix together. Once you look at the lake from afar you would notice that they do not mix. One part of Oguta Lake in Imo State, Nigeria is blue, the other part is brown but they never mix. This lake is seen as mysterious because it consists of two different waters, one part of the lake is brown while the other part of it is greenish.
